For this year’s Community Building efforts for the start of the school year, we will be holding a series of events for the community. We need your help in making this all possible. Below is a schedule of the events with a brief description of our goals. Please sign up to volunteer on the board at Levy Central:
Sunday, August 6th from 11:30 AM-1PM: Backpack Packing: We will be packing 1,000 backpacks in the ministry center; lunch will be provided; this will be a a simplified version of our normal packing events
Sunday, August 6th from 5-7 PM: Back to School Event: We will be holding our revised Back to School Event in the ministry center and the adjacent parking lot; the invitation list will be smaller and the backpacks will not be grade specific so we will have more time to visit with our guests
Thursday, August 10th: Ridgeroad Open House: We need volunteers to assist with this event
Sunday, August 13th from 5-7 PM: Meal: We will be holding our first ever post-event meal in the ministry center; we will be inviting guests that attended our event the week before to come back and learn more about Levy
>Monday, August 14th All Day: First Day of School at Ridgeroad Elementary and Amboy Elementary: We will be ensuring that every kid at each school ends the first day of school with a backpack; we will need volunteers to make this happen
Later in the fall: Life Skills Classes: We will be offering classes on various topics and need assistance in supporting these efforts.
We know this is a little different than our traditional setup. A team has been working since the spring to improve our Community Building efforts and these changes move us in this new direction. Thank you for your continued support!
